Yokohama city car-sharing system

The Yokohama city car-sharing system is run by the Association of Electronic Technology for Automobile Traffic and Driving (JSK) in the 'Yokohama Minato Mirai 21' area.

The system was set up in September, 1999 to share EVs.

The city has recently had environmental problems and lacks sufficient parking areas.

Aims to solve these problems, this car-sharing project was implemented to address these problems under the concept of "building an environmentally friendly new-vehicle society".

A number of initial trials have been completed.

The system has been fully checked, costs have been reduced, and a remote driving trial was done recently.

The Yokohama city car-sharing system is now in its final trial stage: working out an appropriate car rental fee-charging structure .
